Haritholsavam 2011

The Kerala Agricultural University is organizing a mega Kissan Mela and exhibition – Haritholsavam-2011 during September 19th to 24th, 2011 at College of Agriculture campus of the Kerala Agricultural University, Vellayani, Thiruvanathapuram.

Large scale exhibitions and seminars covering recent technological developments in agriculture and allied fields will be part of the event.  It provides an interaction platform for all stakeholders in agriculture development from the level of policy makers to farmers at the field level.

The fair is planned as an annual university event to showcase recent innovations in the field of agriculture.  All the Agricultural Research Stations and  KVKs of KAU  are expected to participate in the fair.  In the coming years also such state level agri fair and seminar in different zones are planned on a rotational basis. 

An excellent exhibition has been arranged in connection with the Haritholsavam at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani. It is an exemplary effort put in by the research stations, KVKs, various departments of the College and other line departments. 

RARS, Pilicode participated in the Haritholsavam. The  hybrid varieties of coconut were the special attraction in the pavilion. A lot number of visitors visited the pavilion, including Tanzanian Vice President and Eritrean students.

 

 

The "Kathirkula" of paddy seen hanging in the stall of Cropping Systems Research Centre, Karamana were a major attraction. It is called "Ayar".
