ADMISSION NOTIFICATION
Applications are invited in the prescribed form for admission to M.Sc. (Integrated) Biotechnology and M.Sc. (Integrated) Climate Change Adaptation Course - 2010-2011 under KAU. Application form and prospectus will be available in the Kerala Agricultural University website ‘www.kau.edu’. Application fee should be remitted as Demand Draft (Rs. 750/- and Rs.375/- for SC/ST) in favour of Comptroller, Kerala Agricultural University, Vellanikkara, Thrissur payable at State Bank of Travancore, KAU Branch.
The filled in application form with Demand Draft should reach the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University, KAU P.O., Vellanikkara, Thrissur – 680 656 before 3.00 pm on or before 15/07/2010.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS FOR ADMISSION TO 5 year M.Sc. (Integrated) programmes 2010-2011 (for +2 Students)
1. M.Sc. (Integrated) Climate Change Adaptation
2. M.Sc. (Integrated) Biotechnology
1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examinations for admission to the M.Sc. Biotechnology (Integrated)/ M.Sc. Climate Change Adaptation (Integrated) Course for 2010-2011.
Note:- Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions as laid down in the Prospectus and who seek admission to the above mentioned course have to apply in the prescribed application form, to be downloaded from the website (http://www.kau.edu) of the Kerala Agricultural University.
2. Eligibility for Admission:
(A) Nativity:
Applicant should be an Indian citizen. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders will be treated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission.
(B) Academic Qualification:
Candidates should have passed the 10 + 2 examination in science stream or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with 60% marks in aggregate for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates.
(C) Relaxation in marks in the Qualifying Examination: A relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination will be allowed to those candidates who belong to the communities listed under the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and whose annual family income is up to Rs. 4.5 lakhs (Rupees Four Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only).
(D) Age: The candidate should complete 17 years of age as on the last date of receipt of application.
3. Schedule for the Entrance Examinations:
The Entrance Examinations will be held at Kerala Agricultural University, Vellanikkara, Thrissur on the dates mentioned below as per Indian Standard Time (IST).
01.08.2010 (Sunday) 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. Paper-I: Physics & Chemistry.
01.08.2010 (Sunday) 2.00 P.M. to 3.20 P.M. Paper-II: Mathematics or Biology & General Knowledge.
4. Application Fee: General candidates - Rs.750/-; SC/ST candidates - Rs.375/-
The application fee can be remitted by Demand Draft in favour of the Comptroller, Kerala Agricultural University, payable at Thrissur.
Those candidates who reside outside the State and do not claim any reservation benefit can apply in the downloaded form along with a Demand Draft for Rs.750/- drawn on a Nationalised Bank in favour of the Comptroller, Kerala Agricultural University, payable at Thrissur.
5. Last date and time for receipt of filled in Application Forms :
The filled in Application Form along with the Application Fee and other relevant
documents, has to reach the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University, KAU P.O., Thrissur 680 656, before 3.00 p.m. on 15.07.2010 (Thursday) by Hand Delivery/Registered Post /Speed Post.
6. Reservation of seats:
Reservation of seats shall be governed by the rules of the Kerala State Government.
7. Candidates will not be allowed to include any information in the application form or to
submit any Certificates/Documents claiming reservation or any other benefits, after the
submission of the application, under any circumstances. Requests in this regard will not be entertained.
8. Incomplete or defective applications will be summarily REJECTED and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
9. The Entrance Examinations and the subsequent allotments will be based on the various provisions laid down in the Prospectus approved by the Kerala Agricultural University. Prospectus is available in the website http://www.kau.edu. ` Candidates are requested to go through the various provisions in the Prospectus before submitting their applications.
